Share Kai

Its not really about food. Its about people. Food breaks down barriers. Sit down with others and learn about who they are. Share ideas, ask questions and open up to their world and their worldview. 


We are inviting you to action compassion and SHARE KAI.


SIMPLE ACTIONS:

  • Pay it forward with a coffee
  • Eat meals together whenever you can
  • Donate food to a food bank
  • Try a new ethnic cuisine 
  • Help someone with a problem


LEARN 

  • Read about the work of foodbanks and how you can help. 


PARTICIPATE 

  • Host a shared lunch where you all bring a dish from your family. 


We will be running a series of shared lunches. Drop us a line if you would like to be involved early on and help us take this to wider audiences.



Reconnect

This is a chance to promote peace in all its forms, to reconnect our relationships with each other and to serve the future that comes. One of the greatest gifts you can give is a few moments of undivided attention.


We are inviting you to action compassion and RECONNECT.


SIMPLE ACTIONS:

  • Phone someone you have not spoken to for a long time
  • Learn how to pronounce a person's name correctly
  • Offer someone your full attention
  • Connect with someone who is lonely or isolated
  • Reach out to someone who you've disagreed with and bridge any divides
  • Switch your phone to silent, or better yet put it away when talking to another person
  • Practice compassionate listening 
  • Offer someone the benefit of the doubt


Reflect

It's a beautiful thing for mind, body and spirit to allow time for daily reflection. By looking back our view of the future may be clearer.


We are inviting you to action compassion and REFLECT.

SIMPLE ACTIONS:


  • Disconnect from technology and walk in nature
  • Mediate, or draw strength from your faith
  • Look around for things that bring you a sense of awe and wonder
  • Do something to care for the natural world
  • Pray, mediate, reflect daily.


One of our team reflected of his late mother: if she was in a room and someone started to gossip she would get up and walk out.
